Website terms
Terms and conditions
These terms govern use of this website and explain the role of our independent heating-upgrade enquiry and installer-matching service.
1. Who we are
This website is operated by Boiler Upgrade Scheme.
Email: support@boiler-upgrade-scheme.co.uk.
This is an independent information, enquiry and installer-matching service. It is not a government department, public authority or official grant administrator.
2. Accepting these terms
By accessing or using the website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, stop using the website.
You should also read our privacy policy and cookie policy.
Nothing in these terms removes or limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
3. What the website provides
The website may provide general heating information, property guidance, enquiry forms, installer or adviser referrals, and links to third-party information.
Unless expressly agreed in writing, the website does not itself provide a technical survey, system design, installation, finance, legal advice or guarantee of eligibility.
4. Enquiries and referrals
Submitting a form is a request for contact. It does not:
- Guarantee that an installer or adviser will accept the enquiry.
- Confirm eligibility for funding or a scheme.
- Create a contract for equipment, assessment or installation.
- Reserve a price, product, appointment or installation date.
- Require you to proceed with a quotation or recommendation.
You must provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
5. Installers, advisers and third parties
An installer, adviser or service provider introduced through the website is normally an independent third party.
- The third party is responsible for its own advice, assessment, design, quotation, workmanship and legal compliance.
- Any installation or service contract is normally between you and that third party.
- You should review credentials, insurance, qualifications, warranties, scope and contract terms before proceeding.
- We do not guarantee availability, suitability or acceptance of an enquiry.
We do not guarantee or endorse a third party merely because an introduction is made. Before entering into an agreement, you should independently check the provider’s identity, credentials, insurance, qualifications, scheme certification, warranties and customer terms.
Equipment, prices, exclusions, warranties, timescales, payment terms and cancellation rights should be confirmed in writing.
6. Website information and estimates
Website content is general information and not a property-specific recommendation, quotation or guarantee.
Technology, prices, product specifications, scheme conditions, tariffs, regulations and availability can change.
Cost, performance and savings examples are illustrative unless stated otherwise. Actual outcomes depend on the property, design, installation, energy prices, weather, maintenance and household use.
Verify important information and obtain a written property-specific proposal before making a financial decision.
7. Acceptable use
You may use the website only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Submit false, misleading, abusive or fraudulent information.
- Impersonate another person or submit an enquiry without authority.
- Attempt unauthorised access to the website or connected systems.
- Introduce malware or traffic intended to disrupt the service.
- Scrape or commercially reuse substantial content without permission.
- Interfere with another person’s use of the website.
8. Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, original website design, branding, text and graphics are owned by or licensed to Boiler Upgrade Scheme.
You may view and print reasonable extracts for personal, non-commercial research. You must not reproduce, republish, sell, modify or commercially exploit content without permission, except where the law allows.
9. External links
External links are provided for convenience. We do not control third-party websites and are not responsible for their content, availability, security or privacy practices.
10. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Subject to mandatory rights and protections:
- We are responsible only for loss that is a reasonably foreseeable result of our breach or failure to use reasonable care and skill.
- We are not responsible for the independent acts, advice, quotations, contracts or workmanship of third parties.
- We are not responsible for loss caused by inaccurate or incomplete information supplied by a user.
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted website access.
- We are not responsible for business losses where the website is used mainly for trade or professional purposes, subject to liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Website availability and changes
We may update, restrict, suspend or withdraw parts of the website for maintenance, security, legal, commercial or operational reasons.
We may update these terms by publishing a revised version on this page. Changes will not remove rights that have already arisen under an existing contract.
12. Privacy and cookies
Our privacy policy explains how personal information is handled. Our cookie policy explains how cookies and similar technologies are used.
13. General legal terms
No waiver
A delay in enforcing a right does not mean that the right has been waived.
Severability
If part of these terms is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
Third-party rights
Unless expressly stated, a person who is not a party to these terms has no right to enforce them.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
Consumers may also benefit from mandatory protections and may be entitled to bring proceedings where they live.
Before starting court proceedings, contact us so we can try to resolve the issue through our complaints process.
If your complaint concerns an installer, adviser or another independent provider, raise it directly with that provider first. Any applicable alternative dispute-resolution provider, certification-body process or consumer redress route should be identified in the provider’s quotation, contract or complaints procedure. Boiler Upgrade Scheme does not appoint a single ADR provider for disputes arising from services supplied under a separate third-party contract.
